Allegory

This morning,
a blackbird flew
across my sky.

An elegant allegory.

Waste of Time

Recently someone I loved
shot my heart
open
saying my
"giving and being"
was a waste of time.

Wild wound
black veil
spilling sorrow
tormented fool flare
burning ash.

Tears
clean the grim
shine the sight.

My brother (my parents) says
"No one gets to disrespect you."
(I should already know this)
clarified
magnified
solidified

My Grandpa's ghost shakes
his gun at this interloper.

I laugh, of course
I am full circle, stronger:
Giving and Being
is me.

simple.

even more
Forgiveness
is freedom:

Thank you, man.

Curiosity Survives

http://mosway.blogspot.com/2009/09/curiosity-survivs.html
In Hawaii,
we call a nosy person,
niele - (nee-eh-leh)

That has always been me.
Niele
Or so my family says.

And while I may
have a big nose,
I think
I am more curious
than nosy.

And curiosity survives.

Compromise

I matter
You matter.

If we cannot compromise,
Let's just agree.

Jack Kerouac

Traveling through Virginia
I remember lightly
how simplicity
gets to the heart.

Thanks, Jack.

Kind of Poetry

This sun rise habit of mine
is addicting
and
absolute
poetry.

Carl Sandburg and Leather

I, too, am an idealist.
Shining fast, feeling jazz.

Like sunlight on the blacktop
making shadows
bursting colors

All heat and leather.
calling me to take that curve.
bending light.

I am free.
