Breath of Life

There is a surreal presence
sometimes
when I am watching the sun rise.
Usually, I am saying my prayers,
listening to the singing birds
waiting
and breathing in and out
this beautiful world that surrounds me.

Life is Short

My precious daughter Kayla loves baked mac and cheese and I am always happy to make her some. After seeing this photograph, she said she would want a bumper sticker that read "Life is short. Eat more cheesy pasta."
